In this assignment “Group Lab Report & Presentation”, we were told to create and carry out an experiment to do on our campus of City College of New York. We were expected write a lab report with an abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion and analysis of a scholarly article. We were also expected to create a presentation along with a virtual poster to go alongside our lab report.

In this assignment, my strengths were helping to design the experiment with my suggestion that we use the various social media platforms to spread the word about our survey. Another strength I had was in helping to create our visual poster as well as avidly looking for typos in the survey, lab report, and poster. I also helped to trim certain sections (introduction, discussion, etc.) in the poster so that it only revealed pertinent, relevant information. However, my weaknesses were that I spoke too fast while presenting and I still confuse active and passive voice in my writing.

In this assignment, I believe I improved on the course learning outcome of strengthening source use practices (including evaluating, integrating, quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, synthesizing, analyzing and citing sources). I formatted most of our citations to CSE Name Year system. I enjoyed the collaborative entity of this assignment because we were able to see different approaches to tackle this task.
